Weekend Away in Midway

While the kids were off track we were able to spend a few days at my grandma's cabin in Midway.  We love Midway and love spending time up at the cabin.  We had a really fun weekend.

We left on Wednesday night, didn't get there until it was bedtime.  Thursday morning we got up and went to the pond to go fishing.  We got bites almost every cast and the girls were able to hook and reel in several fish  all by themselves.  They had a blast!  Brennen also caught several fish.  He spent a lot of the time helping a little girl that borrowed a free pole from the city (which is always available at the pond) to catch a fish.  He helped her cast it and baited it for her and when she wasn't catching fish he would let her reel in whatever he caught.  Such a nice boy!

We kept 3 good sized fish and bbq'd them for dinner that night.  The kids always think it's great to be able to eat what we catch for dinner.  At one point Brennen said "Wow these people around here are lucky they get to live so close to a pond."  Then I reminded him that he lives within walking distance to a fishing pond.  He replied with "oh yeah...AWESOME!!"  Silly kid!

After we got back from fishing we had lunch then Jason and Brennen went fly fishing on the Provo river while the girls and I relaxed and let TJ have a nap.

Hanging out on the deck.
It was such beautiful weather, we loved just hanging out outside, playing and going for walks.

Hanging out on the couch.  So cute!!

Friday morning we went on a little hike and played at the park.   Kiara was on the hunt for caterpillars.

She found one!
Saturday before we had to pack up to leave we went to the apple farm, then to Cascade Springs.

Delma didn't like the loud noise from the water.

Brothers!
Before heading back to the cabin to pack up we went to a local shop with cute home decor items.  The kids got yummy flavored lollipops and I picked out a cute sign for our house that I hung by our back door and a wind chime for our porch.

On the way home we stopped for ice-cream at iceberg.  Yummy!

We are so glad we had the opportunity to spend time together as a family, have fun and relax, can't wait to do it again next year!
