Since the girls were a little upset about being left behind we decided to have our own camp-out in the family room with their play tent. We sent the boys on their way then when TJ woke up from his nap we started off our camping trip by going for a hike around the neighborhood. When we got back we spread out a blanket on the floor and ate our dinner. After dinner we set up the tent and put all their stuff in it and got out their camping lanterns. We also closed all the blinds and turned off all the lights in the house so we could use the light from the lanterns to see. I pretended to get a few mosquito bites so we took turns pretending to spray each other with bug repellent. Then Delma got out a deck of yogi bear cards and we played "go fish" only we changed it to "go camping" since the cards had pictures of forest stuff on them. After a few rounds of cards we made smores by toasting the marshmallows in the toaster oven. It actually turned out pretty good. After smores we gathered up a bunch of books and read until they were tired and ready to go to sleep. I got them tucked into their beds and they fell asleep within a few minutes. TJ was pretty cooperative through the whole thing and fell asleep during story time.
The next morning we made pancakes for breakfast. What a fun camping trip!
