One of Brennen's goals at the beginning of baseball season was to hit the ball over the fence. He was finally able to do it at at one of the tournament games. Unfortunately Jason had to leave the game early for a scout activity. He hit the ball WAAAYYY over the fence and ran his home run. His team met him on home plate then after the game they signed his home run ball for him and he got to keep it. Then I also had to take him out for a hamburger at his favorite place Five Guys on the way home. We had promised him a hamburger if he hit it over the fence.
His second goal of the season was to pitch an entire game. Normally they are only allowed to pitch 3 innings per game but that rule is not in effect during tournament. He was able to pitch an entire game! We won by a ton! 12-5 He pitched 6 innings and only walked two players the entire game! It was simply amazing. By the last inning he was tired and everyone kept asking him if he wanted to keep going. He insisted he could do it and was able to strike 3 players out with only getting one base hit.
Unfortunately the next days tournament game he was not allowed to pitch since he can't pitch more than 6 innings in two days. We lost that game....
Brennen worked really hard and we are very proud of him. His coach this year used to pitch in college. He told us he was not nearly as fast or accurate as Brennen is at this age. We LOVE watching his baseball games!!
