Camping at Currant Creek

We just finished up a really fun camping trip at Currant Creek. We were all pretty exhausted when we got home. The first night Jason and I did not get much sleep at all. The kids wouldn't settle down and quit wiggling around. Then at about midnight a big diesel truck pulling a fifth wheel decided that it was a great time to set up camp right across from us! With their lights shining right on our trailer they spent forever trying to get that big rig backed in in the dark. When they finally got it backed in they spent the next half hour or so messing around setting up camp, turning on and off lights, shouting at each other and for some reason they kept starting up the truck and revving up the engine. Why are people so inconsiderate? Finally I couldn't take it anymore and yelled out the window "Are you about done yet?" They said "yep" and shut it off and went to bed. Sheesh! The next day the guy with the diesel fell and hurt his leg (not bad) then got a flat tire in his big truck, we were trying really hard to feel bad for them.
When we were getting everybody buckled into the truck Sassy decided she wanted Kiara's seat and jumped in behind her. Kiara was not too happy about that but Sassy thought it was a great idea!
We did a lot of fishing...not too much luck though. I think Brennen could fish all day and all night.Delma loves her little fishing pole but she is still trying to figure out how to cast. She puts the pole behind her like she sees everyone else do but then.....
it just disappears!
It was pretty hot in the afternoon so we decided to cool off at the lake. The water was pretty cold but felt really good. Kiara kept doing a little dance. Here is Brennen getting up the courage to go all the way in.
We knew he would eventually, the problem then is getting him to get out!We ended up spending the rest of the afternoon at the lake fishing and swimming.
Kiara was so excited because every time she would reel in her line she caught more slime. Slimey Dimey as she called it. I told her we could cook it up for dinner but she didn't like that idea.Delma had fun throwing rocks into the lake. But she would get a little scared when the boat would come by and make the water choppy.
Delma decided to play in the water a little bit with grandma. The kids had a great time playing around the campground on their bikes. Brennen and Kiara even made some friends and the site next to us and spent some time playing with them.
Just before we headed home we went on a little hike (about 1 mile), it was a pretty hike and we got sprinkled on a little bit so it was nice and cool. We brought a lunch and had a picnic, it was a lot of fun.
We saw this deer in the trees right by us just as we were starting out on our hike. We saw quite a few deer this trip. Jason even ran into a moose and her baby while fly fishing! We found this little fort right along the trail.
Delma took her nap during the hike. She is such a trooper!

Only 4 more days until our next camping adventure!
