April Fools Dinner

My sisters and I prepared an April Fools Dinner for the kids again this year.  This has been a really fun tradition.  We make all the kids a silly dinner that we serve to them while the guys are at the priesthood session of conference.  We had 11 kids in attendance this year, including 3 babies!

We started the dinner by having the kids play a matching game at the table while we did a few last minute preparations.  It only took them a few minutes to figure out that there were NO matches!

Then we told them that we signed them all up for summer camp.  They were very excited until we gave them the brochure for the camp.

We then gave them a little packet of seeds...doughnut seeds, which were really cheerios.

Next we gave them an appetizer

The drink we gave them was milk with a silly straw that turn your drink a different flavor when it goes through the straw

Next we gave them an ice-cream cone.  The ice cream was really mashed potatoes.

Then we gave them hotdogs noodles stuck inside them.  Some of them still couldn't figure out how we did this.

Then they got a lobster sandwich.  I know we made way to much food but it was a lot of fun!

For dessert we gave them mashed potatoes, which was really vanilla ice-cream with caramel topping.

We had a lot of fun.  We are going to have to come up with something totally different for next year to throw them off.
