There is a pond nearby the cabin that also has a playground. We spent a lot of time there fishing, playing and feeding the ducks. Kiara had all the ducks following her around and pretty much eating out of her hand. It was awesome!
Brennen took off to the other side of the pond to fish by himself.
That afternoon Jason and Brennen got up and went fly fishing on the Provo river.
While they were fishing Brennen was out in the middle of the river and looked up and a deer had walked up to the river to take a drink and was right in front of him. He was only about five feet away. Brennnen thought that was pretty awesome. He yelled "dad a deer" then that of course scared it away. :-)
Delma was so proud of her daddy when he brought back a big fish. He usually just releases them but this one had an injury.
The next morning we went to Strawberry Res. to see the salmon.
Smokey the bear was there, Delma was brave enough to give him a big bear hug!
After looking at the salmon we went to the marina to fish for Crawdads. We tied a chicken leg onto the end of a string and lowered it into the water by the rocks. The kids had a blast! We also had lots of other people around us bringing there kids over to check out what we were doing. We had extra chicken legs and shared with a few other people.
After the kids had enough of fishing for Crawdads we went back to the pond, since we didn't catch anything the day before. Kiara, TJ and I played on the grass while the others fished.
We finally ended up catching a few fish. Here is Kiara being silly with the one she caught.
The next morning before going home we went for a walk, it was beautiful! The kids saw several caterpillars and played with them for a little while but we had them set them free before we went home.
TJ enjoying the walk
We had a really great time! We just love spending time together.
We are so thankful to my grandma and aunt Betty for letting us spend the weekend at the cabin. Our memories of these times will last a lifetime!
